The Field Conference of Pennsylvania Geologists, Inc. is a non-profit organization devoted to the dissemination of geological knowledge about the state of Pennsylvania and surrounding areas through an annual 2-day field trip. The field trip is usually the first full weekend in October. During a Thursday evening lecture meeting, geological features to be observed during the next two days' trips are described and discussed. An annual banquet and business meeting are held on Friday evening.
Officers of the Conference are a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, and a Treasurer, elected every two years at the conference business meeting by the attendees of that year's conference. The Bylaws require, for continuity, that the officers be current or retired members of the Pennsylvania Geological Survey. The next election will be in 2012.
